Topic: Preparing to Address the Primary Technical Issues in Development of Plans: Groundwater Modeling

Speakers: Vera Nelson, P.E. (EKI)

Presentation Summary: This presentation will discuss cross boundary flows between hydraulically connected groundwater subbasins; the significance of cross boundary flows in the water budget for many groundwater basins; consideration for quantifying cross boundary flows; and advice for developing an interbasin agreement that best addresses uncertainty in cross boundary flows.

Topic: Ensuring Sustainability as an End Goal

Presentation Summary: This presentation will discuss the requirements for and technical and strategic considerations for defining “sustainability” in Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs); establishing a baseline against which to measure undesirable results; key tests for assessing the Sustainable Management Criteria developed in a GSP; and considerations for creating a robust monitoring network based on the established Sustainable Management Criteria.
