EKI provides extensive stormwater quality services related to a broad range of activities from construction sites to complex industrial facilities.  EKI’s technical foundations in chemistry, water treatment, and engineering provide us with an in-depth, technical understanding of stormwater quality and pollutant sources and fate and transport in the environment.  EKI has worked at large, complex facilities to address toxic pollutants in stormwater such as polychlorinated biphenyls, pesticides, heavy metals, and others.  In many cases, we find stormwater pollution controls have been implemented based upon conventional wisdom, but are not supported by the chemistry and science.

EKI also provides engineering services to assist clients in complying with continually changing stormwater regulations.  EKI has been involved in many facets of stormwater compliance including permitting under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination system, facility audits, design and implementation of stormwater best management practices, preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans, development of stormwater management plans for new developments, and much more.
