Areas of Expertise
Mr. Ford has conducted subsurface investigations of soil and groundwater contamination resulting from various chemicals including chlorinated solvents, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), petroleum hydrocarbons, agricultural pesticides, metals, and leaking underground storage tanks containing fuels. He also performs construction observation services and contractor coordination for remediation projects and previously worked as a construction contractor.
Mr. Ford is experienced with various methods of soil and groundwater characterization, including hollow-stem auger and direct-push drilling, vapor and groundwater well installation, and in-situ environmental investigation techniques such as cone penetration testing (CPT) and hydropunch. Mr. Ford is also experienced with various methods of sample collection, including soil sampling, soil vapor sampling, grab groundwater sampling, and purging and sampling of monitoring wells. He is experienced in soil boring logging techniques and in preparing and interpreting geologic cross-sections.
