Project and Program Management

EKI assists many cities and districts with implementing multifaceted and innovative water, wastewater, recycled water, and water resources projects by leveraging and augmenting client resources through the integration and addition of EKI staff.

In the program management role, EKI extends the resources of City and District staff members by establishing and monitoring budgets, expenditures, and schedules. EKI assembles and manages large teams of consultants, design engineers, and construction management firms.

We work on several key management tasks on behalf of our clients, including the selection of qualified consultants and contracts, preparation and maintenance of detailed project schedules, technical review of engineering documents, oversight of contract administration, and interfacing with regulatory and funding agencies. EKI serves as the City’s or District’s representative during construction, working to coordinate and facilitate discussions between the client’s operation and management staff and engineers, contractors, and construction management firms so that all issues are resolved in a quick and efficient manner. EKI fills this management role in programs involving a series of projects and can also fill this role on individual projects, depending on the client’s needs.

EKI’s expertise in scheduling, permitting, document preparation, public outreach, financial management, interfacing with regulatory agencies, and utility master planning enables us to help our clients strategically prioritize, plan, and manage their utility projects, looking at both the short-term and longer-term time horizons.
