EKI provides grant support services to Westlands Water District including strategic planning, tracking funding opportunities, preparing grant applications, providing grant management services and implementation of grant funded projects.

EKI developed a robust funding solicitation tracking tool to help Westlands Water District track funding solicitations and proactively apply for available funding opportunities. EKI prepared successful DOC MLRP, USBR WaterSMART Planning and Project Design, USBR WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Project, NRCS EQIP WSI priority area, and Cal OES State and Local Cybersecurity Grant, applications for highly competitive grant cycles.

EKI also prepared the following applications that are pending award announcements: USBR WaterSMART Water and Energy Efficiency Project, USBR Reclamation Mussels and Aquatic Invasive Species Spend Plan Call, and Google Water Efficiency and Quality: Infrastructure Projects.

EKI continues to identify the best-suited funding opportunities for Westlands Water District’s priority projects and is currently developing a grants management tool to track the status of submitted applications, keep records of grant materials (application documents, award documents, grant guidelines, grant agreements and amendments, etc.), track the awarded funding and budgets for each successful grant, provide an overview of the status of each grant, and manage awarded grants.

Furthermore, EKI is providing technical services, funded by the DOC MLRP grant, to develop a Multibenefit Agricultural Land Repurposing Plan (MALRP) for the Westside Subbasin.

EKI has successfully secured Grant Funding of $9.1 million for the District.
