💧California’s $152M Watershed Resilience Program will open soon – is your project ready?
California Proposition 4, approved by voters in November 2024, delivers landmark climate resilience investment, including approximately $152M for the Department of Water Resources’ (DWR) new Watershed Resilience Program. With no cost share requirement and competitive statewide eligibility, this is one of the most significant water funding opportunities California has seen in years.
Upcoming Grants through the Watershed Resilience Program:
- Conservation Implementation ($3M to $15M awards) – Funds capital projects with a water conservation benefit. Projects must be selected by a collaborative group and benefit urban or agricultural areas. Draft guidelines are available now and open for public comment through November 9. Concept proposals will be due in early 2027, with full applications to follow.
- Watershed Resilience Planning+ (approx. $8M awards) – Funds collaborative development of a Watershed Resilience Plan and implementation of priority project(s). Draft solicitation package is expected this winter, with concept proposals due late 2027 and full applications to follow.
