EKI’s Water Expertise Strengthened by Addition of Hydrogeologist Team

EKI Environment & Water is pleased to announce the recent growth of its Water Resources Group to align with new client opportunities throughout California.

“We continue to experience growth throughout California,” stated Anona Dutton, Vice President and Director of Water Resources Group. “Our momentum is attracting great people who are passionate about solving our clients’ water challenges. I’m excited to welcome our latest team members.”

John Fio, Principal Hydrogeologist
Mr. Fio has more than 30 years of hydrogeologic problem-solving experience, and is a recognized expert on hydrologic and water quality issues in the San Francisco Bay Area and the San Joaquin Valley. He provides Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) support for basins in California to assist with basin management, compliance with SGMA and Groundwater Sustainability Plan development. His experience includes ten years of research and project leadership with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) prior to founding HydroFocus, Inc where he provided private consulting services for 20 years. Mr. Fio’s work is published in numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and government reports.

Dave Leighton, Senior Hydrogeologist
Mr. Leighton has more than 30 years of experience, including 16 years with the USGS which included time as the USGS California District coordinator. He specializes in the development and application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in hydrogeologic investigations and groundwater modeling. He helped develop and maintains the groundwater flow model used to facilitate groundwater management in parts of San Mateo and San Francisco counties. His experience includes analysis of groundwater and water quality conditions related to subsidence mitigation strategies in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and agricultural reuse of treated wastewater.

Christina Lucero, PG, Hydrogeologist
Ms. Lucero is a Registered Professional Geologist with 10 years of experience as a hydrogeologist. She is an expert in hydrogeologic data collection and evaluation. She develops and implements numerical models, researches the geology and hydrology of project areas, collects groundwater levels and groundwater samples from the field, conducts spatial analyses and data visualization using GIS.

Timothy Ingrum, Hydrogeologist
Mr. Ingrum has eight years of experience conducting hydrogeologic and water quality analysis. He is skilled in soil and water field data collection methods and processes, field instrumentation, statistical analysis and GIS.  His modeling capabilities include groundwater flow and chemical modeling. His work in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is published in three peer-reviewed journal articles.

Kristyn Lindhart, Hydrogeologist
Ms. Lindhart excels in water and soil sampling, data analysis, and geochemical modeling. She routinely researches the geology, hydrogeology and hydrology of project areas. She oversees monitoring well installations and abandonments, performs well condition surveys, creates well monitoring networks and plans, and performs statistical analysis on water quality data. She also helps come up with creative ways to visually represent groundwater model and data analysis results.
